Situated in this picturesque village within the Vale of the White Horse, Stanford in the Vale Village Hall was opened on 9 July 1983 by Pam Ayres, author of popular humorous verse and a native of this village.
The Village Hall serves the local community by offering two excellent function rooms which are regularly used by a wide variety of clubs and organisations. Additionally, the facilities play host to wedding receptions, private parties, children's parties as well as fund raising events.
In order to meet the growing demands of the local community, the Village Hall facilities are being continually improved and updated. In 1999, a new smaller hall was built as an extension of the current hall. Both halls have their own kitchen facilities as well as a hearing loop system and toilets, including facilities for the disabled. There is also ample parking available.
The Village Hall is on a long-term lease to the Village Hall Management Committee (Registered Charity # 272157). The Management Committee is formed by a group of volunteers (all regular hirers as well as the Parish Council are invited to nominate a representative onto the Management Committee each year), who undertake to run the hall as smoothly as possible, whilst maintaining/enhancing the facilities for generations to come.
